Welcome to Golden Ticket Showdown, the movie review podcast where we put two candy-coated films head-to-head in a battle for supremacy: the 1971 classic Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory vs. Tim Burton’s 2005 reboot Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
One is a whimsical musical with Oompa-Loompas who have questionable fashion choices. The other is… well, a fever dream starring Johnny Depp in possibly the most unsettling Willy Wonka performance ever recorded.
Each episode, we’ll dive into the colourful, candy-filled worlds of chocolate rivers, golden tickets, and enough questionable parenting decisions to make you question your childhood.
