Welcome to Martians and Mayhem: A Tale of Two “Invaders from Mars”, the movie review podcast where we review both versions of the Invaders from Mars movies and try to figure out why Martians are so obsessed with Earth (and, apparently, 80s hairstyles). We’ll dive into the 1953 sci-fi classic that has us all wondering if aliens really did land in a desert somewhere, and then compare it to the 1986 remake that’s almost as absurd, but with a lot more neon lights, mullets, and way more questionable acting choices.
Spoiler alert: The aliens are still trying to kidnap everyone, and the humans are still confused.
Get ready for some out-of-this-world reviews, a couple of strange theories, and maybe even a deep dive into why Martians can’t seem to come up with better disguises than “giant brainy heads” (seriously, guys—try harder).
Two long time friends, one podcast.
This is The Deja Review.
