In this episode I share my conversation with a dear friend, sister, and fellow plant walker, Becca Loevy. Becca is a seeker and her primarily language is dance. Her desires are rooted in healthy nomadism, conscious community building, and finding pathways back to the land. She currently lives and works at Smokebrush, a community-based arts and agricultural organization in Manitou Springs, CO and together, with her community, weaves animal care, movement practices, and conscious farming into a beautifully woven basket of collective well being.
In this episode we get into:
The displacement wounds of European descendants
How Becca finally faced the medicine of loneliness and stopped running away from home
Her journey to the path of deep relationship with our plant ancestors
Learning how to respect and honor all plants as master teachers
Why so many people of European descent feel such a call to learn from indigenous teachers who steward intact earth-based spiritual lineages
The value of healthy nomadism as a means of unlearning colonization and how we heal our relationship to our animal kin
The return of “extinct” plant ancestors and invisible peoples
The delicate line between a medicine and poison and how to cultivate true relationship with the plants in order to move out of codependent dyanamics
How to slowly reintegrate plant teachings into our daily lives
May this episode infuse all of the magic and medicine that our plant ancestors have to offer into your life!
