In this week's episode I share my conversation with one of my teachers, Aya Maria Maldonado. Aya Maria, mother, professional autonomous midwife, perinatal educator, and artist, is in service to the creative reproductive continuum—supporting people to remember themselves as extensions of raw natural power and as the ultimate authority over their sexual and reproductive health. She offers full-spectrum midwifery care in Tabio, Colombia, 1:1 virtual consults, as well as online and in-person immersions and trainings.
In this episode we dive deep into:
- Orienting to future ancestry as we individuate from our family’s of origin
- The art of birth care and how it reconnects us to the elemental technologies of all of our lineages
- The role of being an “in-between” person that travels through different timelines of modern, globalized society and ancestral, land-based life way
- Taking the response-ability to interweave the tools of clinical analysis and mammalian body intelligence when making decisions about our health (particularly throughout pregnancy and birth)
- How we can co-create thriving communities by aligning with our sense of common unity
- Remembering that, as women, we hold the blueprint within us to give birth and support birth with reverence, integrity, and love
May this episode reorient us all back into the gift of response-ability and the life-exalting capacity that we all carry within our innate blueprint of human vitality!
