Allen Root, resident of San Luis Obispo since 1965, is the President of the Board of SLO County Arts.
He started his first welding business in 1976, specializing in unique custom metalwork in residences, churches, and commercial spaces.
Allen was also involved in crafting San Luis Obispo’s first Public Art Ordinance and has worked closely with the City in the maintenance and repair of it’s art inventory.
