On Episode 44 of The Grant O Show, we welcome Nicki Boudreaux, Assistant Professor of Mass Communications and Director of the Nancy Sanderson Matherne Institute for Global Communication at Nicholls State University. A dedicated educator and advocate, Nicki has spent her career empowering students and amplifying Louisiana’s coastal crisis on global platforms. Nicki discusses the creation and momentum of Louisiana’s Restoration Generation, a student-led movement for coastal advocacy that recently hosted its first-ever Coastal Summit and even presented to the United Nations. She also shares about her exciting next chapter as the new Education & Engagement Coordinator for the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP), where she hopes to connect with communities across South Louisiana to drive environmental change. In this heartfelt and inspiring conversation, Nicki opens up about her journey with multiple sclerosis, the power of student engagement, and why storytelling is key to preserving Louisiana’s future.
