Description

On Episode 83 of The Grant O Show, we sit down with Jason Pitre, owner of Bayou Rosa Oysters, a Native-owned oyster farm rooted in the traditions, resilience, and living culture of South Louisiana.

Jason comes from generations of watermen in Lafourche Parish and is redefining oyster farming by blending traditional coastal knowledge with modern, sustainable aquaculture practices. Inspired by his grandfather and shaped by experiences in healthcare and travel nursing, Jason launched Bayou Rosa Oysters to protect both the bayou ecosystem and the cultural heritage of the Houma Nation.

In this episode, Jason shares:

If you’re passionate about Louisiana food culture, sustainability, Native-owned businesses, coastal restoration, or entrepreneurship, this conversation offers powerful insight into preserving tradition while building for the future.
