TRIGGER WARNING: Victim blaming, sexual assault, domestic violence
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month I am re-dropping a VERY important episode that I did last year with one of my closest friends and fellow survivor Christine Lalonde on the ongoing abuse that is *victim blaming.”
Victim blaming is the act of trying to convince a victim and the people around them that they caused and therefore deserved the abuse they encountered. It is not only determental to a person’s healing, it can cause them to replay the same patterns, and it allows violence in society to continue because we put attention on the victim rather than the source.
Victim blaming needs to stop. As part of the Breakups, Broken Hearts, and Moving On commitment to Domestic Violence Awareness Month I am partnering up with my good friend Christine to talk about the victim blaming that we have experienced, the impacts it had on our life, and how YOU can become part of the solution instead of the problem.
👉Take a stand! Please share this episode on social media this month to help raise awareness about the impacts of victim blaming.
