Imagine starting investing in property before the BTL mortgage was an option... This week we have Ian McBain Senior join us from Estuary living. We at 83 property have the pleasure to be apart of the developers club that meet monthly to which Ian and his son are a big part of the group.
Ian shares his story from buying his first property in 1988 for 6k to how he has followed his family to Southend in Essex where they now operate. How years of investing was blown away when they attended a property seminar and learnt how to change a house to a HMO.
What an interesting story Ian shares how fulfilled he feels after starting out to pass something to his kids to know where it's more of a ''hobby than a job''.
''Keep putting yourself out there'' and ''going through the process'' are part and parcel of the key to success when it comes to succeeding in property. Although there are bumps in the road like when a major income stream was turned off with the covid lockdown Ian and his family have taken action to push forward to build a nice portfolio up.
