Why did I leave teaching? Well, it wasn’t one single thing, I just found that my job wasn’t lighting me up anymore, it wasn’t fun. Life is too short to have a job that isn’t working for you. We all know that teaching isn’t just a job, but I think we need to remember that it shouldn’t be something that dictates your whole life.
There IS a world outside of the classroom! It took me 6 years to pluck up the courage to leave teaching, I was actually scared to leave, but why? I still don’t know, but it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done! I knew I’d lost my passion for teaching and for so long I was just going through the motions. Now I get to choose what I want my day to look like and I have the freedom and flexibility I’ve always dreamed of.
