While the logic behind SPIN—situation, problem, implication, and need-payoff—is sound, I question whether such formulas belong in human relationships. When even a father uses SPIN to persuade his son, sincerity is lost. Sales, like parenting, is not about manipulation but trust. True persuasion begins not with technique, but with empathy.
