We can learn a lot from King David, who was in full-blown contrition and brokenness, when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bathsheba. Often we treat repentance as a statement—an ā€œI’m sorry, please forgive meā€ that checks a box and (hopefully) alleviates our guilt. But if we look closely atĀ Psalm 51, we see that repentance is a turning away from sin and a turning toward God—a process that doesn’t merely alleviate guilt, but cultivates deep joy. It means a changing and a turning of your mind from unrighteousness to godliness! Once God forgives you of your sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, you are so humbly grateful, all you want to do is teach & preach to others about the goodness of God. The mercy of God. The righteousness of God. The forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ!Ā How they must not live in willful, deliberate sin and not letting it dominate them, but to come to Christ so they're not in the line of 's fire! YOU WILL START TO HATE WHAT GOD HATES, AND THAT IS SIN! ALL OF IT! The gift of repentance from God is truly amazing, it will lead you into a life of gratitude and obedience. All because of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!
