I was reading Jeremiah 5:30-31 that says: "An appalling and horrible thing [bringing desolation and destruction] has come to pass in the land: 31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; and My people love [to have] it so! But what will you do when the end comes?" And that question prompted me to give some thought about what WILL happen when the end comes? The Lord did say, many (of these lying prophets) will say to me on that day, "Lord Lord..."
You have to understand what was going on with Judah when the prophet Jeremiah was speaking to them on behalf of the LORD in this verse. They were a corrupt society! They eagerly ran after lying and deceiving prophets and the people love to have it so! They did not fear God for His mighty power nor give Him thanks! Pretty much as we see going on today!
Paul told Timothy correctly when he said, there will come a time when people will turn from sound doctrine; and they will find teachers who will tickle their ears with what they want to hear - all the while being in willful sin against God! Those who are in deliberate sin and call themselves "Christians," are deceived! God has called us to live holy and to come out from anyone who teaches godliness is gain; we are to withdraw ourselves from them! Paul said that if anyone teaches you another Gospel, may they be accursed! Remember what Lord Jesus said, there are wolves out here... pretending to be sheep, BEWARE! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
