It seeks to claim that as long as we make a profession of faith, we are saved. Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, is so much more than simply mouthing the words “Jesus is Lord.” We are not saved by a profession of faith! We are not saved by praying the Sinner’s Prayer. We are not saved by signing a card or walking an aisle. We are saved by a living and active faith, a faith that manifests itself in repentance, obedience, and love of God and our neighbor. Salvation is not a transaction; it’s a transformation!
Ezekiel 36:25-27 tells us, God will give us a new heart. Our old heart of stone is thrown out! Our new hearts are touched by God. Our new pliable, teachable, tender hearts are changed and molded by the Lord. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we become more like God and His Son. You see, when you surrender your life to Jesus Christ, He begins to transform you! This is the process of sanctification, which is the action of being untangled from the power sin! Christ died to sin on our behalf and, therefore, we have been freed from its bondage. Now, we must live our life out in that biblical truth!
Never forget, God is calling His people to be changed and shaped by the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ). Since we have a new heart, we can be changed. The real Gospel of Jesus Christ will challenge and convict you. It will lead to a change in your sinful habits and cause you to repent. The gospel does not teaches: you are forgiven and STAY the way you were! That would be the cheap "grace!" This cheap "grace" says you're forgiven, but does not call you to be changed! However, real Grace teaches us to turn away from sin and live clean, holy, and upright lives before the Lord! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
