I was proving Paul right when he said, “They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him …” (Titus 1:16) 😭. There were no fruit of my "repentance!" I needed to repent sincerely and stop the madness! Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for Your mercy!! There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent! (see Luke 24:44-47). At the end of the day, we who are in Christ Jesus, must consider/reckon ourselves with this one fact: WE ARE DEAD TO SIN!! Period! MY friend, God has made a way for us to be reconciled back to Himself through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! The Gospel is the good news that God loved the world enough to give His only BEGOTTEN Son to die for our sin. As the Gospel is preached, people would either believe it and be forgiven, or reject it and suffer judgment! Therefore, we ain't got no business being back in sin, now that we are born-again! So, today we're going to talk about why repentance is important and necessary to the salvation plan of God. Listen, we can try to give the Father and Jesus lip service all day about how we are sorry for sin, but there's no TURNING from it! Why? Because we are still in it - there's no fruit! John the Baptist made a pognizant and direct admonishment to the Pharisees who were coming to be baptized by him: “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the [divine] wrath and judgment to come? 8 So produce fruit that is consistent with repentance [demonstrating new behavior that proves a change of heart, and a conscious decision to turn away from sin" (Matthew 8). Folks, the test of true repentance, ultimately, is fruit. Amen! TURN FROM SIN! 🎯 Repent and believe and turn back to God!
