💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: Grace is the divine ability to live above sin and it is given by God to the humble! Our God is merciful and gracious and because of His graciousness, we find this divine attribute on full display in Ephesians 2:8-9, "8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." Out of His will and intention, comes such demonstration of graciousness toward us sinners. It is truly a gift! As we will hear on the podcast today, His wonderful amazing grace is much more: Grace is what encourages godly living! In order to receive His grace, the ability to overcome sin, you must be humble, knowing that without Him and His salvation, we all face eternal separation and fiery destruction!
When one is submissive unto God, He gives them grace to overcome temptation that leads to sinning, to a life of discipline that leads to godliness. But if one is prideful and rebellious and arrogant and continues to be friends with this evil present "world" by living in complete opposition to God's holiness and righteousness, the same will be pushed away by God! The Scripture says,
👉🏾"But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble" (James 4:6).
What also needs to be addressed is that people get grace and mercy mixed up. They're two separate things. Mercy is shown to someone who doesn't deserve it, they really deserve wrath. Grace is help from God. Grace is meant to help us live holy lives after getting born again. Instead of giving excuses for our sin, we are to resist and rise above it till it is eliminated (James 4:7-10). When we talk about God's grace, it is often defined amidst church circles as "unmerited favor," - meaning that it's available to all! Well, this simply can't be the biblical definition of grace. Because James 4:6, tells us that He gives His grace only to those who are humble. These are they who have merited His favor, not by works to EARN His favor, but has received it by their obedience as a servant. And He gives more grace to them to continue on in sanctification.
Grace is able to help us live godly lives; it is here to help us renounce sin and live for God alone. God's grace is given to the humble who have submitted themselves under His mighty hand as a servant. For His grace teaches us to reject all ungodliness and worldly immoral pleasures (Titus 2:11) and live godly, upright and pure lives, as we await the fulfillment of our faith - our salvation!
Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
