💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives means that, as we grow in our faith and come to love God ever more each day, we’ll have the strength to resist sin more and more. For, we are commanded by God to not let sin reign in our bodies, obeying its lusts, but instead we are to present ourselves to Him as instruments of righteousness (Romans 6:12–14)! This means that the children of God obey Him and live in freedom from habitual sin. We can do this because Jesus has set us free from the slavery of sin (John 8:36), and thus we are no longer under its penalty of death and separation from God.
💥 How to know you are STILL a slave to sin: you are STILL willfully, habitually, and deliberately sinning! You have not been regenerated or you are no longer abiding in Christ Jesus! The Bible tells us in 1 John 3, 8 "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." Amen!
Christ Jesus made it plain in John 8:34, when He tells the unbelieving Pharisees, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.” Paul asked in Romans 6:16, "Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?" As a born again child of the Living God, you are no longer a slave to sin, so don't put yourself back into bondage! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
