John 3:19-20 tells us why: "The Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light, and does not come to the Light [but shrinks from it] for fear that his [sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned." John 1:5 says, "The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]."
They that are of the "world," who chose the evil dark things of satan over the Savior, will ALWAYS find that Jesus is not their "cup of tea!" They rather have their dark evil wicked ways more than the Redeemer who died for their sins!
But what about those who claim that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior and still find Him not to be their "cup of tea" as well? I know you say, Cynthia, that's not possible for any born-again believer to not find Jesus as their "cup of tea!" Well, I'm here to shatter that bubble because beloved some, if not many, who say they believe in Jesus, do not listen to, nor follow, nor obey Jesus! They find that His "brand" of teaching is unreasonable, too harsh, and doesn't fit into their lifestyle of iniquity and rebellious recklessness! These are they that are careless listeners, they are not doers of the Word! They say Jesus is Savior, but by their behavior and conversation, He is clearly not their Lord!
WE MUST COUNT THE COST BEFORE WE FOLLOW JESUS, FOR IT WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING!
The Lord Jesus Christ lays out the terms of discipleship in Luke 14:28, “count the cost.” Following Him may mean we lose relationships, dreams, material things, or even our lives! He ended His description of the cost of discipleship with a breathtaking statement: "Any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:33).“ Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
