But if you DON'T, you will be eternally separated from God and the Lord Jesus Christ in the Lake of Fire, which the Bible calls the "second death." The dead branches are gathered and thrown into the fire! That is why the damnable teaching of "Once Saved/Always Saved" is putting MANY people back on the road to ! It teaches that you can stay stuck in WILLFUL BLANTANT sin and still get to go to Heaven! It lulls them into a false "eternal security" that Jesus NEVER promised! That is a false teaching. We are not saved! We are BEING saved through the sanctification process in Christ Jesus: living in righteousness and holiness with a clear conscience - being led by the Holy Spirit. It's about walking in obedience and faithfulness to the Father; turning from sin and forsaking it! It is not until Jesus comes back when our resurrected bodies shall be glorified - that is when we reach glorification! That is when we'll receive the promised gift of eternal life. WE DON'T GOT THIS IN THE BAG! It's all about standing firm and enduring until the end; not getting tangled up and enslaved by sin again!
Ezekiel 18:24-26 says it all!!
"But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die."
