Scripture say, "The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death" (Proverbs 14:27). Amen! How true is that!
Where there's no fear of the Lord, there will be no turning from sin! In such case, you ignorantly do not understand the magnitude of the situation: "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up," (Malachi 4:1). Woefully, if you sin ANYWAY, you are deceived to think that the love of the Father is in you! For every one born again of the Spirit, does not, and cannot, go on sinning! (Study 1 John 3:8-9).
So why am I talking about this? I'm talking about this because when you truly fear the Lord, you will obey and keep His commandments. Out of reverent love and respect for who He is, and what He has done for us, we comply with His directions, commands, instructions, and, if need be, rebuke! You know how you know, you really love God? Is when you HATE sin as much as He does, AND TURN FROM IT!
1 John 2:5 sums up today's lesson perfectly: "But whoever habitually keeps His word and obeys His precepts [and treasures His message in its entirety], in him the love of God has truly been perfected [it is completed and has reached maturity]." Amen! Live clean. Be holy! Obey God! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
