🚩 Sister Shannon, my precious sister in the Lord, this one's for you. You've brought something to the forefront that on a few occasions, I've made mention of before.
Folks, we're talking about the sin called RAILING as found in the Scriptures! Many well-meaning followers of Jesus' are participating in the sins of railing, clamor, slander, and reviling through worldly protests that produces hatred, anger, wrath, and violent behavior. Not realizing that RAILING is a sin! It doesn't matter if these protests are billed as "peaceful," "sit-downs," or "shut-ins," it doesn't matter! It doesn't even matter if your local church is backing it! Because if they are, that is a fellowship that most certainly needs to be forsaken! So, we are going to be dealing with railing, for the Bible tells us it is forbidden to participate in. A railer is someone who takes up a cause and wants to bring about justice by heading to the streets! But is this something we need to be involved in?
As news commentators, radio hosts and bloggers have snarkily commented, protesting has become America’s favorite hobby recently. Outrage has become fashionable, and people everywhere jump on various bandwagons regardless of whether or not they understand the issue at hand and the things at stake. Christians are called to love their neighbors and to be good stewards of the earth. They cannot do this, if they join in with whatever "movement" is currently popular!
The Bible calls for us in Psalm 37, to fret not of how the wicked prospers, for it only leads to evil. For the Lord laughs at the wicked one, for He sees that his day of defeat coming! They vanish—like smoke! They will perish! The Lord says that vengeance is Mine, I will repay! And that's what we trust in, not in our own efforts to right wrongs and bring evil ones to justice! THE LORD KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH HIS ENEMIES! Let us be about the Father's business! Amen!
