They did not enter into God's rest because of their unbelief! Therefore, it gives us a testimony of what happens when we, too, do not enter the Lord's rest because of unbelief.
The story of how the Israelites initially failed to enter the Promised Land but were instead cursed for 40 years by God in the wilderness is a tragic one. The fact that an entire generation were so close to the promise but, because of their rebellion, rejection & unbelief of God’s Word, the Lord prohibited & cursed an entire generation of people from obtaining the promise (Canaan).
As believers, when we walk with God, do we sometimes behave like the ungrateful & unbelieving Israelites? Do we sometimes complain & walk in unbelief before God who has given us His promises or do we walk by faith in Him and not according to sight? So let's find out!
