And if you are still living out your passions and lusts, it is only for one reason: there is no fear of God before your eyes! And not only that, you don't love Him as you say you do! No you don't! John tells us that if we say we know God, but continue to sin, we are liars and His Word is not in us!
1 John 2:4, "Whoever says, “I have come to know Him,” but does not habitually keep [focused on His precepts and obey] His commandments (teachings), is a liar, and the truth [of the divine word] is not in him."
Beloved listen, you cannot love God without having the fear of God in you. You cannot love Him without obeying His Word. And you do not truly fear God unless you love and obey Him.
You may answer, "But didn't Jesus say the two most important commandments hinge on love — that we're to love God and love our neighbor?" Yes, He did! I have no argument with those who teach that love ought to be our primary motivation as believers...
My problem is the difference between the modern-day church's definition of "love" — and what Jesus calls love! So make sure you tune in today to find out what kind of love will only be acceptable to Him and the Father!
