The dictionary definition of “worldly” is “relating to, or devoted to, the temporal world.” Worldliness, then, is the condition of being concerned with worldly affairs, especially to the neglect of spiritual things. The Bible has a great deal to say about worldliness, none of it good! The epistles depict worldliness as the exact opposite of godliness. That is why today we will be discussing those sins that will keep us out of the Kingdom of God! No longer are we to be deceived about what God expects from His born-again children - we are to come out from amongst this world, leave behind worldly and immoral desires and follow Jesus as we are led by Holy Spirit, being set apart for God's purposes and plans!
LIVING CLEAN IN A DIRTY WORLD!
Beloved, we cannot live in deception to think that we can stay in adulterous remarriages, smoke weed, fornicate, etc., basically... living a life characterized by willful sin and God will overlook those sins just because we claim the Name! God forbid! Paul rightly rebukes in Romans 2:2-3, "And we know that God, in justice, will punish anyone who does such things as these. Do you think that God will judge and condemn others for doing them and overlook you when you do them, too?"
Obeying Jesus means living a holy life! The clean life is a life lived in a godly, consecrated, righteous way - for God is holy. The clean life is lived by those who are committed to following Christ -- the Righteous One who are obedient to the end. The term dirty, represents a "worldly," carnal, self-centered life - chasing after pleasure, possessions, and status! A clean life is lived each day hinged to honesty, truth, love, humility with one another in mind in every way.
1 Peter 1:15-16 "But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” Amen!
🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
