💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: In Christ, you are no longer a slave to sin! Sin does not own you any longer - it is not your master! Christ Jesus is! And we must decide to whom we will obey - for He did say, "You cannot serve two masters." SPIRITUAL slavery is greater than any HUMAN slavery, for it applies to everyone, and its ramifications are eternal! People are either slaves to sin, resulting in death (eternal separation from God), or slaves of God, resulting in eternal life in the Kingdom of God. Romans 6:16 reads, “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves to obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?”
What I personally love about Romans chapter 6 is the reason why Paul tells us we are not slaves to sin any longer: our old self was crucified with Christ! Dead men are freed from their old masters. Sin can't tell us what to do any more. We are LITERALLY dead to sin in Christ (Romans 6:1–11). He also tells us to STOP giving our bodies over to be used by sin and to give them over, instead, to be used by God for RIGHTEOUSNESS. We're alive now, no longer dead in trespasses and sins. Why live like sin still owns us (Romans 6:12–14)? Exactly!
🎯 Christ Jesus rescued us out of the domain of darkness, through His sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection! We've been snatched out of sin's deadly grip; snatched out of an idolatrous and adulterous world that is completely manipulated and under the power & demonic influential sway of Satan and have been transferred into the Kingdom of God's dear Son! Hallelujah!
WE BELONG TO GOD NOW - bought by the precious blood of Jesus! Therefore, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1). Amen!!
Remember what our Redeemer has said: “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin]” (John 8:31-32). IF THE SON HAS SET YOU FREE, YOU ARE FREED INDEED!
