Description

The word alfalfa has come from an Arabic word al-faṣfaṣa . It is a high-feeding value herbaceous perennial legume grown mostly as hay crop. It is frequently consumed as a sprouting green. Alfalfa supplements are also consumed by certain persons. The evidence for their usage in treating medical disorders is limited, despite some studies on their alleged health advantages.

Due to the impact on the immune system and the presence of phytoestrogens in lucerne, people with autoimmune diseases and cancers linked to hormones should exercise caution when consuming it. Alfalfa can also interact with a wide range of drugs, hormones, herbs, and supplements.
