This week, Toby and Brooke along with guest host Jeff Darden (Toby's long-time best friend) talk about 1999's Star Wars - Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, the only Star Wars film that's a 90s movie! We talk about the powerhouse duo of Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), the menacing Darth Maul (Ray Park), the whole Trade Federation political stuff in layman's terms, the experience of seeing Jedi doing their jobs in their height as peacekeepers of the galaxy, and of course, that lightsaber duel at the end of the film.
There's also a gem of a story from Jeff (a former movie theatre manager during this time) about an escapade involving the Attack of the Clones trailer you won't want to miss. Brooke also treats us to the backstory of "Duel of the Fates", the orchestral piece that essentially became the theme of the prequels.
As true Star Wars fans, we appreciate this film, and though we give some critiques (just being honest, but we're not rabid about it), we promise we don't rant.
