As a sixth grader, Sam Strum was already a knowledgeable interpreter of the Broadway repertoire -- particularly the songs sung by kid characters. He had also already mastered the bell kick, which we took full advantage of overthe years. As we talked, Sam reminded me that he specialized in playing death scenes in shows we worked on.
