Description

CW: This episode includes references to sexual assault and domestic violence.

In this week’s episode, Sean tells Josh about his recent visit to Gran Canaria and what he liked about his holiday. They discuss the climate, culture, flora, history, and architecture of the Canary Islands as well as the impact of tourism.

Josh tells Sean why he wasn’t a big fan of the new musical film Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, and the hosts attempt to dissect why the songs don’t seem to hold up as well in the film version. Josh also explains why he doesn’t think anyone else can play Glinda as well as Kristin Chenoweth.

Finally, there is a fiery discussion about Christmas and how Josh and Sean find it absurd that people celebrate it in a way that causes so much pain, destruction, and landfill. Sean shares some traumatic Christmas memories from his childhood and the hosts discuss how they attempt to avoid the societal pressures to celebrate at this time of year.

Enjoy the ride!
