Today I'm talking with Dillon Rasberry, one of the directors of OSP's Macbeth and member of the Emerging Artists Collective. We will discuss how they decided on Cowboy Macbeth and some of the ideas that got entertained and discarded along the way. We will also discuss the legacy of the Oklahoma land run and the complexities of putting such a complicated and fraught time period center stage (literally).

Dillon received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. While at UCO he studied acting under Kris Kuss, Daisy Nystul and Emily Heugatter, as well as education under Dr. Alissa Crawford. During his four years he was seen in several faculty directed pieces including Rhinoceros (Old Gentleman) and Small Mouth Sounds (Jan). He also served as Co-Director for UCO’s production of Everybody. Rasberry is originally from Miami, Oklahoma where he was active with the Miami Little Theatre in musicals such as Oklahoma! (Will Parker), Oliver! (The Artful Dodger), and The Sound of Music (Kurt VonTrapp). He was the youngest person elected to serve on the MLT Board of Directors. Dillon is a proud Board Member for Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park where he has assisted with numerous shows including As You Like It (Asst. Stage Manager), Venus in Fur (Stage Manager), Blithe Spirit (Stage Manager), and Much Ado About Nothing (Asst. Director). In 2022, Rasberry was selected to serve as Theatre Arts Director for Edmond North where he directs all of their mainstage productions. Directing credits at North include Our Town and Oklahoma! Under Rasberry’s leadership the department has grown exponentially, constantly adding new members and creating large scale productions for the local community to enjoy. He has directed other shows in the district including The 39 Steps and The Sister Act. He considers himself beyond lucky to create art alongside some of the most dedicated fine arts educators and talented students in the State.
