Introduction
Jesus did His first miracle at the wedding
This was a Devine moment because the bibles starts and ends with the wedding.
The bible starts with the wedding between Adam and Eve and ends with the wedding between Christ and the Church
God original intention was a happy union between a man and woman
When we have happy marriage we produce happy children and happy world 🌍
No wonder the devil attacks the idea of marriage so much
He makes it hard for people to get married
The devil is doing his best to make the concept of marriage to have negative connotation
But here we are, Jesus is performing His first miracle at the wedding
Invitation of Jesus
It is vitally important to invite Jesus into your daily life
You will never know what may happen in the course of your day that need His intervention
The mother of Jesus was already there
By the look of things she was close to this couple and saw a need to have the King of the heaven in an earthly ceremony
With Jesus around life can not be normal
Why do we pray so much?
We want His presence to be wherever we are
Exodus 33:15-16 NKJV
Moses is saying to God, “I don’t want to live without you“
That what makes a difference in our lives, the presence of God
The miracle was never going to happen if Jesus was not invited
How many miracles have we missed in our lives?
When I run out
When you run out who will be there to give you what you need?
It’s not if but when…
This generation must know who will fill up your tank when you run out
Life in nature is draining
You don’t even need to be in sin to be drained
When you run out, who do you call?
Mary intervened - to someone else’s problem, I need a friend like that
We are sometimes too quiet about Jesus to our friends and families when they need Him
Jesus is saying, His time has not come yet
The power of intercession make God to move even before time
If you see a gap that only God can fill, you must stand in the gap and intercede
Have faith like Mary when she said do what He says you must do
Have you ever prayed and feel like your prayer is not it?
Faith supersedes your feelings
If I was to go with my feelings I wouldn’t have preached 80% of the sermons I’ve preached
Do what His Word says you must do
The Waster Stones
The water stones were not put there for making wine 🍷
When God wants to use you nothing can stop Him
Why didn’t he use the ones they were using?
Answer: The capacity… Jesus works best in abundance
He called for stone jars 🫙 that were not meant for drinking because of capacity
He is not limited by your level of experience and education as long as you have the capacity, he will use you
These water pots were not fancy but they were available for the Master
They filled them to the brim
Jesus wants to fill us up to the full capacity
6 water pots 20 gallons each = 120 gallons = 454 litres of good wine 🍷
Best wine in South Africa 🇿🇦 costs around R8000
The total cost of the wine Jesus made was R3,6M
Conclusion: The First Miracle Jesus Did
First thing Jesus did was to bring joy in someones life
Change the ordinary to extraordinary
Jesus wants you to do what you are capable of doing and live the rest for Him
Make sure you do what He says
He did it behind the scene but everyone had a great experience
He will never give you inferior quality
People take advantage of your vulnerability (drunk) but Jesus always deliver the best throughout
Things start good and end up bad but God is good… all the time
