A year ago, things were technically fine, until they weren’t. In this episode, we rewind to the start of 2025, when we knew our pastor of 32 years was preparing to leave, and we were trying to plan a retirement party and the future at the same time. Interim pastor? Internal leadership? How long does a senior pastor search even take?
Then January said, “Hold my coffee,” and we found out Pete was leaving too. Suddenly, two of the most visible faces on a Sunday were gone, workloads doubled, tension rose, and everyone was figuring things out on the fly all while still doing their regular jobs. Oh, and Jen was out of the country for all of this… and returned with food poisoning. Perfect timing.
This episode sets the stage for a year of transition, uncertainty, teamwork, and asking the question we’d repeat a lot in 2025: “Okay… now what?”
