The party escapes from the ancient forge and meets Old Man Berko, a prisoner of Mirrak Mines for many years. Berko determines that Zel could be in grave danger. The wound he received from the Aronax could prove to be worse than he had imagine. But Berko believes there might be a cure hiding in the mountains.
