Description

The road to the cross was paved with injustice. The Jewish leaders who condemned Jesus broke five of their own laws to ensure his execution. Hypocrisy was thick in the air, but Jesus did not resist. He knew their hearts, and still, he went.

Why? Because love that is willing to serve is love that is willing to sacrifice.

In the garden, Jesus agonised in prayer, yet still chose obedience. On the cross, he suffered under false accusations, yet still chose forgiveness. Through every injustice, he remained steadfast in love.

As Jesus broke the bread and shared the cup with his disciples, he was inviting them into something deeper than a ritual. He was calling them to a lifestyle—one where they would put others before themselves, care for one another, and lift each other up.

That same invitation stands today.

When we serve others, we reflect Jesus. When we ask, “How can I bless you?” we step into his heart for people. And when we choose humility over pride, we live out the love that he first showed us.

So as we reflect on the cross, let’s also ask: How can I serve those around me? How can I show the love of Jesus in a tangible way today?

Prayer
"Jesus, you showed us what love truly looks like—not in words alone, but in action. You took the lowest place to lift us up. Teach me to serve with that same heart. Help me to put aside pride, to seek out ways to bless others, and to reflect your love in my daily life. Open my eyes to the needs around me and give me the courage to meet them. May I not just admire your humility but live it. Amen."
