John 6 reminds us that Jesus offers more than physical provision—He offers Himself as the true source of life. After feeding the five thousand, He explained that while ordinary bread satisfies for a moment, He is the Bread from Heaven who gives life that never ends.
People often seek God for what He can give, but Jesus invites us to something deeper: to believe in Him, to draw near, and to receive the life only He can offer. “Do not work for food that spoils,” He says, “but for food that endures to eternal life.” The greatest work we can do is simply to believe—to trust the One the Father has sent.
When we come to Jesus, He satisfies our spiritual hunger and quenches our deepest thirst. To “eat” His flesh and “drink” His blood is not a literal act, but an invitation to take His life and presence into our own—to be united with Him.
As we share the bread and the cup, we are reminded that Jesus still nourishes us today. He heals, restores, and calls us into deeper relationship. In Him, we find belonging, peace, and purpose.
