Dwayne Brenna is an award-winning Canadian author known for his engaging works of fiction, poetry, and humor. His writing career spans several celebrated books, including Eddie Gustafson’s Guide to Christmas, a beloved collection of comedic vignettes, and two poetry collections—Stealing Home, a tribute to baseball, and Give My Love to Rose. Stealing Home was shortlisted for multiple Saskatchewan Book Awards.Dwayne's debut novel, New Albion, explores the gritty world of 1850s East End London through the eyes of a troubled playwright. The book won the Muslims for Peace and Justice Fiction Award and was shortlisted for the prestigious MM Bennetts Award for historical fiction. His more recent work includes the baseball novel Long Way Home and the theatre history book Nights That Shook the Stage.His poetry and short stories have been published in respected literary journals such as Grain, Nine, Spitball, The Antigonish Review, Intima, and The Cold Mountain Review.Dwayne’s work reflects a deep love of storytelling, history, and the arts—often drawing on themes of sport, performance, and the complexity of the human experience.
