JFS offers in-person and telecare mental health counseling, augmented case management services that include emergency financial assistance for necessities, and a community outreach program providing interactive opportunities for, primarily, isolated seniors and local Holocaust survivors.
Starting as a group of volunteers in 1982, Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS) has grown to be one of the largest provider of social services in the Coachella Valley. JFS programs have been available throughout the pandemic, and the conversion of many programs to telecare allows for remote access to life-sustaining services This past fiscal year, JFS provided 15,867 services to 2667 unduplicated clients.
