Description

This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas decide to dig a pool in the backyard and stumble across a two-million-year-old cave man from the first Ice Age. In hopes that this pre-historic find would bring them fame and fortune, the pair concoct a scheme to pass the Cro-Magnon man as a popcorn-slinging usher at The Prince Charles Cinema, and all sorts of 90s-style hi-jinks ensue...

With the release of THE WHALE at The PCC and Brendan Fraser's comeback in full swing, join us for the next four weeks, as we celebrate with our Brenaissance Mini-Arc. In this limited strand, we'll be highlighting four old school Brendan Fraser classics, kicking off with 1992's ENCINO MAN aka CALIFORNIA MAN (as it was known in the U.K.).

As we step back into this highly quotable cult teen bud-dy comedy, we'll drown in 90s stereotypes, dissect why no one likes Sean Astin's Dave, chart the rise of Brendan Fraser (of course) and totally overindulge in nostalgia for "The Weasel" Pauly Shore. “If you're edged 'cause I'm wheezin' all your grindage, just chill. 'Cause if I had the whole Brady Bunch thing happenin' at my pad, I'd go grind over there, so don't tax my gig so hard-core cruster.”
