Episode Description
In this episode of The YLF Experience Podcast, I’m diving into a supplement that has been around for decades, has more research behind it than most, and continues to spark conversations in the fitness space: creatine. I walk you through my ultra-conservative approach to supplements, why I believe conversations with your doctor should always come first, and why supplements should never replace your foundation of consistency and routine.
I explain how creatine works in the body, especially in short-duration activities like lifting or sprinting, and why it can support better performance, faster and more complete recovery, and even long-term cognitive health. I also share my personal experiences of using creatine over the last twenty-five years, including both the benefits and the less glamorous side effects like water retention and the dreaded chalky aftertaste.
My goal is to help you see creatine in context. It’s not magic, it’s not necessary to make progress, but it can provide noticeable benefits once your foundation is solid. I encourage you to approach it thoughtfully, stay consistent with your habits first, and remember that your health journey always starts from the inside/out.
