What story are you living for—your own, or God’s?
In Week 3 of our Esther series, we open Esther chapters 5–6, a turning point in the book where everything begins to shift. At first glance, these chapters feel quiet—banquets, delays, a sleepless night—but behind the scenes, God is moving with perfect timing. What looks ordinary is actually the beginning of a divine reversal.
This message explores the contrast between a life centered on “my story” and a life surrendered to “His story.” Haman represents the emptiness of pride, control, and the craving for recognition, while Esther and Mordecai show what it looks like to trust God in the waiting and remain faithful when no one is watching. Even the smallest acts of obedience can become part of something far greater in God’s hands. Ultimately, Esther 5–6 points us to the bigger story of the Gospel—how we overcome not by striving, but through the blood of the Lamb and the power of what Jesus has done in us.
