In this episode of Page to Picture, Kimmy and Tiffany are joined by special guest Poncho Bosque to revisit Eragon, the beloved fantasy novel by Christopher Paolini, and unpack why its 2006 movie adaptation left so many fans disappointed. (we legit hated it)
From dragons and destiny to rebellion and rich world-building, the trio dives deep into the themes, pacing, and emotional core of the book. They explore the strengths of Paolini’s storytelling and character development, especially Eragon, Brom, and the bond they share.
Then, they turn a critical eye to the film adaptation, highlighting issues with the CGI, casting choices, and lack of character depth. They also discuss whether the upcoming Disney+ reboot could finally do this story justice.
We also give our ARC Corner to Poncho himself and he talks with us about this book Chronciles of Heroes: Untamed Nature.
If you loved the book but scratched your head during the movie, you’re not alone. Join us in talking crap about this adaptation and applaud with us when we finally say THE BOOK WAS BETTER.
