Buzz is building around Paramount's new Power Rangers project, with rumors suggesting a female Ranger will lead the team this time. While female Red Rangers have helmed the team before, a male leader has been far more common throughout the franchise's history. Ultimately, though, the most important factor for many fans, myself included, isn't the leader's gender; it's the quality of the writing, the compelling storyline, and the development of well-rounded characters.
