In "Redemption Day," Scorpius attempts to drain Terra Venture's energy, prompting the Rangers to intervene. The Magna Defender, driven by vengeance, aims to destroy Scorpius, even if it means sacrificing the colony. However, the Magna Defender's Zord rejects his master's selfish plan. It is revealed that the Magna Defender is using Mike's body as a vessel, and that Mike is still alive inside the Magna Defender. Leo's refusal to destroy him, coupled with a vision of his son Zika, causes the Magna Defender to realize the error of his ways.
