Description

dedicated to David F Teller

David F. Teller, Jr., husband, father, Nonno, uncle and friend of Ashland, passed away August 14, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. David was 71 years old.  David truly enjoyed life. He was fiercely loving of his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.  No one could make you laugh or smile more. He was known (and loved) for entertaining you with his dumb and sometimes colorful jokes.

He enjoyed travelling, especially to Italy. Wherever he was, home or abroad, he could never pass by an ice cream or gelato shop without stopping. If you ever wondered why your favorite ice cream was out of stock at the store, it’s likely David was there. There will be more ice cream for everyone now.

David co-owned Agostinelli-Teller-Ryan Insurance for 50 years. He was a dedicated citizen of Ashland who served for 12 years as a member of the Board of Selectman, a longtime member of the Ashland Lions, Ashland Business Association, and many other civic organizations. David’s job for the last three years since retirement was attempting (and failing) to train his beloved dog Winston.

A lifelong golfer, David enjoyed many rounds with friends old and new. His longtime grade school and high school buddies from Framingham along with his Ashland and Falmouth friends were always entertained by David’s sense of humor on the golf course.

David leaves his wife of 25 years, Judi (McGlone). In addition to Judi, David is survived by his five children, Brian Bowman and wife Mary Ellen, Jennifer (Teller) Hamel and husband Steve, and Michael Bowman all of Ashland, Jessica Teller and her husband Will Weldon of Los Angeles, and Matthew MacGregor and his partner Sophie McPhee of Denver. He also leaves behind his three treasured grandchildren Grace and Jay Henry Bowman and Dylan Hamel as well as his brother Robert Capobianco of Ashland, his mother-in-law Kathleen McGlone-Barretto of Charlton, Mike and Elsa McGlone of Sturbridge, Terry and Lisa McGlone of Framingham, Marianne McGlone of Pomfret, CT, Deborah Perella of Framingham and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents David and Irene (Capobianco) Teller and his brother-in-law Patrick McGlone.

David courageously lived with Parkinson’s disease over the last 15 years. He didn’t want the disease to define him and fearlessly faced it every day.  David was a staunch believer in organ donation and in the end was able to donate to those in desperate need of life-giving organ transplants. He will live on in many lives and we honor him for those gifts. In lieu of flowers, David’s family asks that you consider donating to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a cause that was dear to his heart.
