RAW Comedy 2023 is the largest and longest running national open mic competition in Australia.
Celebrating the freshest and funniest new talent from around the country, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s 2023 RAW Comedy final took place on April 16th and was hosted by Logie award winning comedian Dilruk Jayasinha (Utopia).
This year, marks RAW Comedy’s 28th year and has catapulted some of Australia’s biggest comedy names to stardom including – Hannah Gadsby, Josh Thomas, Ronny Chieng, Celia Pacquola, Matt Okine and Aaron Chen, just to name a few.
In this episode, host and head of entertainment at Mediaweek and Chattr, Anita Anabel, spoke to Dilruk about the festival, why he’s afraid of the massive talent rising through the ranks, how a heart attack at age 37 changed is perspective on life and how he forgets he’s actually starring in ABC’s Utopia while on set.
