Description

The Bushwackers are one of Australia's best-known and most-loved Australiana bands, who are celebrating over 50 years of music.

Recently, Roger Corbett and Dobe Newton left a whole new generation of fans in awe when they appeared on The Voice Australia.

During their Blind Audition, the duo performed ‘I am Australian’, which was written by Newton, alongside Bruce Woodley from The Seekers.

They’re also behind the Heel and Toe Polka plus several other famous bush dance songs and were the first band to record ‘And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda’ after it was written by Eric Bogle.

In this episode, host and head of entertainment at Mediaweek and Chattr, Anita Anabel (and longtime fan) spoke to Dobe and Roger about their Voice experience, how ‘I am Australian’ was a complete “accident” and revealed who they tried to sue after a very prominent politician wanted to use their song.
