JONES! JESUS KNIFE! ROOM SERVICE!
This week we discuss the 1995 film "Johnny Mnemonic" based on the short story by William Gibson as we continue Season 1: 90s Sci-Fi and Fantasy Films. We get to bask in a truly unhinged performance from the one and only Keanu Reeves, delve into the world of cyberpunk, and go on a pretty long rant about the importance of staying politically engaged (that is only tangentially related to Johnny Mnemonic). In a word, it's wild. We had an absolute blast with this episode and we hope you do too. Please do enjoy our ramblings about being millennials because boy oh boy there are a lot of them. Happy listening!
As a side note, we did post this episode out of order since what we discuss is informed by the results of the 2024 US presidential election and we wanted to get it out on the airwaves. So if you stick around for vibe check, you'll get an easter egg for next week's episode.
