According to the 2023 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 12 million women in the United States ages 12 and older had an alcohol use disorder (AUD) in the past year.
On this episode of Survive & Thrive 8791, I welcome Kristi Tanner to the Buck & Honey's remote studios. For many years, Kristi struggled with alcohol and sobriety. With four young children, Tanner found it hard to manage life and being a parent.
In July of 2019, she decided enough is enough and entered a rehabilitation facility which would lead to nearly 2,000 days sobriety at the time of this recording.
Kristi Tanner started to experiment with alcohol in high school, but it wasn't until her college days and professional life when things started to escalate. With the support of family, recovery groups, and a recent business venture, she has been surviving and thriving.
Tanner, a owner of the non-alcoholic (NA) shop, Sober Social, just outside Madison, WI is an advocate for sober living and bringing many different NA choices to those who want to live a healthier better way.
If you or someone you know who is struggling with alcohol or sobriety, ask for help and seek professional advice. Or, use the coping strategies Tanner talks about in this episode of Survive & Thrive 8791, CAN'T WAIT!!!
