In today's episode Nadjejda begins to speak on Anti-Blackness in our movements specifically Anti-Blackness in our movements when it comes to Black people in Congo, Sudan, and her homeland Ayit/Haiti.
She shares about how she's often noticed that for many in our social movements, Black lives seems to matter only for Black people in the U.S.
She believes that we have all in some way or another internalized anti-Blackness from colonization. She shares how our struggles and liberation are connected and no single issue is more important than another issue.
She invites her listeners to look into their racial bias, to witness how they feel when they see someone from Ayiti or the Congo/DRC suffering and to compare their feelings to how they feel when they see someone from Palestine or someone who isn't Black suffering.
She also invites them to show empathy for all even though they may choose to focus mostly on a particular issue. It's a lot and she understands, she's calling on people to be aware of and do the work to release their anti-Blackness.
She invites them to truly stand for all people to be liberated which means being aware that the issue they're mostly focused on isn't the only issue happening around the world.
Let's choose empathy, compassion, and liberation for all.
