'Smart Plant' Helps New Taipei Speed Up Recycling
New Taipei has a new plant!
No, it's not a plant like 【植物】…
Sometimes, a place that makes power (發電廠) is called a "power plant".
So a place that helps with recycling… can be called a "recycling plant" (回收廠).
And this new plant in New Taipei uses artificial intelligence (人工智慧), or A.I., to help recycle faster!
First, some people take a look at all the trash (垃圾) and recyclables (可回收的東西).
They help to separate (分開) the trash, and give the recyclables to a machine (機器).
The machine uses A.I. to look at all the recyclables…
And then it uses four robot arms (四隻機器手臂) to sort everything (分類)!
This "smart recycling plant" (智慧型回收廠) is VERY fast.
It can sort around 220 items per minute…
每分鐘可以把220項廢物分類…
That's almost four items per second!
等於每秒處理完四項東西！
It plans to help New Taipei process 2,500 tons of recycling every year.
這座回收廠每年可以處理新北市兩千五百噸的回收垃圾。
People say the new recycling plant will help New Taipei save time (節省時間) and save energy (節省能源).
But, of course… we still need YOU to help recycle!

駕車壯遊 北極到南極
"Pole-to-Pole" Road Trip
Have you ever been on a road trip (開車旅遊)?
Maybe your family likes to drive from Taipei (台北) to Kenting (墾丁).
But… that's only about 450 kilometers (四百五十公里).
Well, one couple (一對情侶) wants to drive from the North Pole to the South Pole (要從北極開車到南極)!
That's about 27,000 kilometers (兩萬七千公里左右)…
And they're going to drive an electric car (電動車)!
But many people are asking how they will charge their car around the North Pole.
很多人在問他們要怎麼在北極給車子充電。
Well, their car also has solar panels (太陽能板) and a wind turbine (風力發電機).
This way, it can get electricity (電力) from the sun and the wind!
The couple will start from northern Canada (北加拿大), at the Magnetic North Pole (磁北極).
They'll start driving in the summer, because the sun will stay out all day, and they can get more solar energy.
他們要在夏天踏上旅程，因為北極的夏季，太陽一直掛在天空，可以獲得更多太陽能。
They will then drive through many countries, passing through Central America (中美洲), and all the way down Argentina (阿根廷).
Finally, they'll take a boat to Antarctica (南極洲)… and drive to the South Pole.
The whole trip (整個旅程) will take around 10 months.
After that… driving from Taipei to Kenting sounds pretty easy, huh?

NASA Reveals New Spacesuits
If the weather is hot, you might wear a T-shirt and shorts (短褲).
And if the weather is cold, you might wear a jacket (外套).
But, what if there's… NO weather?
Well, if there's no air (沒有空氣的話), then you'd better have a spacesuit (你最好有太空裝)!
Of course, a spacesuit helps you keep your air, so you can breathe (呼吸).
But it also helps maintain your air pressure (維持你的氣壓).
And it can protect you (保護你) from the bright sun in outer space.
So NASA (美國太空總署) has made all-new spacesuits for their astronauts (太空人).
They're lighter (比較輕) and stronger (比較牢靠).
And women astronauts say the new spacesuits fit better, too (女太空人也穿得比較舒服)!
The new suits will be used for NASA's moon mission (月球任務) called "Artemis III", in the year 2025.
The Artemis III mission will be people's first time to walk on the moon in 50 years!

But, still… you probably shouldn't wear a spacesuit to school.
